Billing and Insurance
Myofunctional Therapy of Athens is considered an out-of-network provider with insurance companies and currently accepts private-pay only. You will be able to access a superbill or receipt via the patient portal, and these can be submitted to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to inquire about out-of-network insurance benefits. You will also be responsible for submitting all of the necessary documents to your insurance provider.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
We are not currently in-network with any insurance providers. Payment for services is the sole responsibility of the patient/family.
What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept credit cards and HSA/FSA cards.
How long does therapy last?
It is impossible to know how long therapy will last, but progress is strongly related to several factors: severity of the disorder, attendance at therapy, participation in therapy and at home, as well as the patient's motivation.
What is the best age to start myofunctional therapy?
It is important for children to be able to follow directions and participate independently in therapy and practice strategies at home. Depending on their maturity, typically children ages 4-5 and older are excellent candidates for starting therapy.
Do you work with teens and adults?
Yes. We see significant progress with teens and adults.
Do you offer teletherapy?
Not at this time. All therapy sessions are in-person at our office.
